Deadline July 29 - Maryland State Arts Council Offers Individual Artist Awards for 2005. Guidelines and application forms are now available for the 2005 Individual Artist Awards from the Maryland State Arts Council. Applicants must be Maryland residents. Awards are offered this year in the fields of Choreography, Music Composition, Playwriting, and Poetry, and in four Visual Arts categories--Crafts, Photography, Installation and Sculpture. Deadline July 15 - Rockville Arts Place 2005 Call for Entries. Rockville Arts Place is accepting exhibition proposals for its 2005 schedule. Thematic and media-based exhibitions will cover all media. February 20 - March 26. Group and individual entries accepted. Work must have been completed in the last three years. The entry fee is $25. Rockville Arts Place is a membership organization that serves artists with exhibition opportunities, professional development programs, and master workshops. Deadline June 15 - Call for Entries for Fall Exhibition, Montpelier Cultural Arts Center – MD. DIALOGUE.art.technology.imagery. Montpelier Cultural Arts Center is located on the beautiful grounds of Montpelier Mansion in Laurel, MD. Submissions are encouraged from artists working in a variety of disciplines: photography, painting, graphic design, printmaking, video, and new media. The exhibition will open on September 8 and will be held in conjunction with the Mid-Atlantic regional conference of the Society for Photographic Education. Deadline June 12 - The newly renovated Arlington Arts Center will reopen this summer. They have issued a call for entries for 10 artists for solo exhibitions in the spring or fall of 2005. Artists living or working in Virginia, DC, Maryland, West VA, Delaware, and Pennsylvania are eligible to apply. Proposals should be made for the exhibition of recent work completed within the last three years which has not previously been exhibited in the Washington area. Entry fee $25 for non-members.

FIELD TRIP In conjunction with a major exhibiton of new work by Sally Mann (one of the best photographers in the world,) the Corcoran will host a book signing and viewing of What Remains, on Thursday, June 24 at 7pm.
