The Bethesda Fine Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, May 15 from 10am - 6pm and Sunday, May 16 from 10am - 5pm. 120 artists will exhibit original contemporary art, fine craft, jewelry and furniture in the Woodmont Triangle area of downtown Bethesda. Danny Conant and Grace Taylor will show examples of their figurative work in the Male Nude exhibiton at the new Light Street Gallery in Baltimore, located at 1448 Light Street, Baltimore MD 21230. Call (410) 234 0047 for more information. An opening reception will be held for all the artists on May 15, from 5-10pm. The work will be on exhibit from May 8 until May 29.

CALL FOR ENTRIES: Los Angeles Center For Digital Art Juried Show

LACDA announces an open call for a juried competition featuring digital art. Entrants submit three JPEG files of original work. All styles of artwork and photography created digitally that are suitable for wide format output will be accepted.

The selected winner receives 10 archival prints of their work up to 44x60 inches on canvas or museum quality paper (approximately a $1500-$2000 value) to be shown in a solo exhibition in our gallery. The show will be widely promoted and will include a reception for the artist. Five second place winners will receive one print of their work up to 44x60 inches ($150-$200 in value) to be included in upcoming group shows.

Show Dates: June 10-July 2, 2004

Deadline for entries: May 10, 2004

Entry Fee: Registration fee is $30.

Paris at Night, Photographs by Danny Conant and Russian Journey, photographs by Suzanne Quinlan will be on exhibit at Multiple Exposures Gallery from May 4 until June 6, 2004 with a reception on Sunday, May 9 from 2pm - 4pm.

Please join the curator, John Yeh and the artists in the exhibition, Process: Painting, Printing, Photography, Projection, A Survey of Area Digital Artists for a gallery talk, Sunday, April 18 from 2-4 pm at the Montpelier Cultural Arts Center in Laurel, Maryland. The artists will discuss both the ideas behind their work as well as their use of the digital in their art making process. Mr. Sheridan will give a short demonstration of the generative systems software he has produced for this exhibition.

The artists are: Y. David Chung, (animation), Darryl Dardenne, (digital prints), Vin Grabill, (digital video), Don Kimes, (mixed media painting), Jamy Sheridan, (software and animation) and Barbara Tyroler, (digital photography & video). The work will be on exhibit from April 2 until May 26, 2004. A reception will be held on Friday, May 7 from 7pm - 9pm.
