The guest speaker will be Ferdinand Protzman, former art critic for the Washington Post and author of ‘Landscape; Photographs of Time and Place,’ a beautiful new book that investigates the ongoing evolution of landscape photography. Lennox Campello, this intensive one day seminar is almost like boot-camp for aspiring artists. We have given this seminar to over three hundred people since 1998. I am looking forward to seeing you at the first Secondsight meeting of 2004. The meeting will be on Thursday, January 22 at 6.30pm.

I am very pleased to announce that our guest speakers for the evening will be award winning architectural photographers Anice Hoachlander and Judy Davis. Anice and Judy will show examples of their work and discuss their careers in the highly competitive world of architectural photography.

The meeting will be held at the Chevy Chase Bank Building in the sixth floor auditorium, located at 7700 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD 20814. The building is a short walk from the Bethesda Metro station. Parking is available in a public parking garage across the street. For driving directions visit www.mapquest.com

Coffee and cookies will be served from 6.30pm -7pm. Anice and Judy's presentation will start at 7pm and end at 7.45pm.

The portfolio sharing session will begin at 8pm and end at 9.30pm. Please limit your portfolio to twenty photographs. If you have more, please bring them to a future meeting. Portfolio presentations should last for between 10 and 15 minutes. Please give your full attention to other members in your portfolio sharing group.

This meeting is free for Secondsight members and $10 for non-members. Cash or checks only please. Membership forms will be available at the meeting.

GALLERY JUSTINE, Fairfax's first fine-art photography gallery will open on Friday, January 23rd with a special reception at 5.30pm. The gallery is located at 3949 Chain Bridge Road, downstairs from the Old Post Office in Fairfax City. Moroccan Doors and Thresholds, a collection of photographs by Diana Adams will be on exhibit.
